The Reformer Room
Reformer Pilates is part of the original Pilates system, performed on a beautifully designed piece of equipment created by Joseph Pilates. While it might look a little unfamiliar at first, the Reformer is simply a smart, supportive piece of apparatus that uses springs and straps to provide both resistance and assistance as you move. This allows exercises to feel guided, controlled and often more accessible than mat work.
During a session, you’ll move through a range of positions - lying, seated, kneeling and sometimes standing - creating a balanced, full-body workout that challenges strength, stability and coordination. The resistance can be adjusted to suit you, meaning it can feel as gentle or as challenging as you need on any given day.
Reformer Pilates is suitable for everyone, whether you’re completely new or more experienced. Each session can be tailored to your body, helping you build strength, improve mobility and move with greater ease, confidence and control.
If you've never been on a Reformer before, you'll need to complete a 4-week Beginner Course which will introduce you to the apparatus safely and guide you through the fundamentals. Once completed you will be able to book with confidence any class on the schedule. We will guide you and make sure you're working at the correct level to suit your needs.
Foundation classes will then build on what you have learned during the Beginners Course. You’ll move through Pilates sequences that build strength, improve alignment, and deepen mind-body connection, all at a thoughtful, steady pace. Expect clear cues and a focus on quality over intensity. You are welcome to join these classes if you have learned how to use the Reformer elsewhere.
Intermediate classes are for those with more experience. Expect to be challenged as you move with purpose (and sometimes tempo) to keep your body guessing. We will blend dynamic sequences, core work, mobility and strength, layering up to advanced for those who want it and modifying where necessary to accommodate injuries or limitations.
